Job Summary:

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for supervising the daily back of house operations to include timely food preparation, complying with safety and sanitary regulations, delegating kitchen staff duties and assist in training.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Works with Executive Chef in training kitchen staff on techniques of food preparation and proper use/cleaning of kitchen equipment.
  • Supervise kitchen staff for efficiency and proper execution of recipes and sanitation practices.
  • Coordinates customer food orders for a timely delivery.
  • Delegates responsibilities to kitchen staff.
  • Maintains an organized, sanitary kitchen: maintaining equipment and reporting any issues.
  • Maintains food in coolers and on shelves using FIFO method.
  • Assists when scheduling issues arise due to no shows/call off.

Minimum Qualification Standards:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Serv-Safe Certification.
  • Proven ability in leadership skills in a fast-paced food environment.
  • Must be able to lift 35 – 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work productively in a fast paced, stressful environment.
  • Ability to stand all day and work over hot grill/stove/fryer.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills to deal with food mishaps and employee issues during hectic times.
  • Excellent organizational skills to keep multiple food stations flowing while keeping with cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes set forth ensuring consistent execution and proportions of such.
  • Strong communication skills. Must be able to clearly convey proper methods and directions.

Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

This position requires the regular use of a grill, stove, oven, fryer, knives and cell phone.

Computer Software: Email proficiency required. Use of Square POS.

Mental Requirements:

• Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with timing of food preparation and presentation, staff observation and proper equipment usage.

Outside Work: Walking between buildings.

Travel:

This position does not require travel.
