Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Bottling/Canning Line Lead and Operations Manager, this position will perform all duties related to bottling/canning line operations, changeover, and some corrective maintenance.
Full-time (1-2 positions available)
Year-round part-time (4-5 positions available)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned Supervisor or Lead Line)
- Responsible for safely operating 4 bottling/canning lines while adhering to the SQF and organic certification policies of the 1911 Cider House.
- Operates the bottling/canning line and ensures all quality control check points and standards are met.
- Accurately records all case codes and other SQF and organic certification related document requirements.
- Display the aptitude for removing and installing package change over parts.
- Set equipment for proper bottle to guide clearance.
- Comprehend the function of each piece of bottling/canning line equipment including its capabilities and limitations.
- Understand and adjust all equipment timing points.
- Recognize and resolve improperly adjusted components.
- Utilize had tools to perform maintenance and changeover tasks.
- Make production adjustments to all equipment as necessary.
- Inspect for proper machine component performance.
- Perform in production cleaning.
- Follow, observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
- Understand and follow sanitation procedures of bottling/canning equipment.
- Inspect for adherence to all packaging specifications including documenting results.
- Operate forklift and clamp in full product case goods and raw materials.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery.
- Properly fill out all bottling/canning logs and checklists.
- Work well with coworkers on the bottling/canning line team under the direction of the Operations Manager and Line Leads
- Trouble-shoot issues quickly and without constant direction to keep production on schedule.
- Expect to consistently meet production goals regardless of the unforeseen issues that arise in the facility.
- Follow the 1911 Cider House procedures with adherence to our employee handbook organic and SQF policies.
- Flexibility in work scheduling. Variable schedule may include staying late and/or working weekends as needed to achieve production goals.
Minimum Qualification Standards:
- High School diploma preferred.
- Distilling knowledge and/or experience preferred.
- Two (2) years bottling/canning line experience preferred.
- One (1) year experience working in line manufacturing preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of filling, labeling and capping machines preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
- Use of personal computer is not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously.
- Strong oral communication skills to interact with co-workers in a professional and helpful manner.
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced, stressful environment.

Physical Exertion:
Medium work – Ability to exert up to 50 pounds frequently, 100 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. A negligible amount of force is constantly required to move objects.
• Ability to stand and work on a concrete floor for 10+ hour shift.
Environmental Conditions:
Inside Work: With exposure to temperature changes (e.g., unheated or uncooled warehouse).
Mental Requirements:
• Light mental and visual attention to set up, regulate, or adjust simple machines or processes where there is some variety, but actions taken, and decisions made are limited to few possibilities. Work requires some coordination with others.
Travel:
This position does not require travel.
