Is there an admission fee?
No! Admission and parking are free.
When are you open?
Beak & Skiff campus is open year-round! However, operating hours and which buildings are open will change seasonally. Please check out our operating hours HERE. The hours vary and change throughout the year. You can also follow our Facebook and Instagram pages @beakandskiff for updates!
When does apple picking start?
Apple picking typically begins at the end of August/early September. The ripeness & readiness of the crop is highly dependent on the weather, therefore, it’s difficult to predict until only a few days prior. Please check our picking schedule for the most up-to-date info on which variety is available for Pick-Your-Own and what’s in our Apple Barn HERE
Can I bring my dog to Beak & Skiff?
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are permitted outside on campus. They are not allowed inside the buildings or the orchard. If no one in your group is able to stay with your dog outside while you shop and visit PYO, we recommend leaving them at home. We ask that you leave all other pets/animals home.
How many apple trees do we have planted?
As of Spring 2025, Beak & Skiff has 400,000 apple trees in the ground!
How many varieties of apple do we have planted?
We have 20 varieties of apples at Beak & Skiff. Find our full list HERE
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, gift cards are available for purchase at our General Store.
What are your Pick-Your-Own prices?
Monday – Thursday: $1.20/lb. Friday – Sunday: $1.60/lb. Honeycrisp & Snapdragon are always $2.75/lb.
Can I walk through the orchard?
No; the orchard is open only during apple picking season (late August – late October) & you must take one of our free wagon rides to access it. The last wagon to PYO goes out at 5pm daily. Please DO NOT walk out to the apple-picking areas.
Do You Have a Corn Maze?
Yes! Our brand new corn maze is now open! It’s self-guided, free to guests, and designed to be fun, not tricky! Perfect for kids of all ages (and adults who are kids at heart). Please do not bring your dog into the corn maze & do not smoke in the corn maze. Thank you!
Do you have food?
Yes, we have several locations with food, snacks, and beverages. Our Cafe & Bakery offer items like poutine, burgers, salads, chicken fingers, cider donuts, apple dumplings & more! Our Tavern also has a full food menu. Find treats & coffee drinks at The Sweet Apple, located inside our General Store. And of course, find a wide variety of 1911 Established hard ciders, spirits, & seasonal cocktails at our 1911 Tasting Room! For more info on what’s open & when, click HERE
Do you sell apple trees/saplings?
Yes; typically in the spring we have leftover apple tree saplings for sale on campus. Quantity available & the variety changes each year. We will announce on social media when they are ready! @beakandskiff
Is handicapped parking available?
Yes, there are designated spots available at both entrances to campus. The back entrance is labeled as the delivery entrance off of Route 80.
Is the campus ADA accessible?
Yes, we do have paved pathways between buildings & ADA compliant restrooms.
Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards is a smoke-free property; thank you for understanding.
When are apple fritters available?
Since we only use fresh apples for our fritters, they are available for a limited time during apple picking season on the Apple Hill Campus, typically after Labor Day weekend. Find fritters at The Stand on weekends & at the Bakery on weekdays.
When will the Honeycrisp be ready?
The ripeness & readiness of the Honeycrisp apples is highly dependent on the weather, therefore, it’s difficult to predict too far in advance. The typical time period is mid-September, but Mother Nature is the boss! We recommend following our Instagram & Facebook pages for the most up-to-date announcements on which varieties are being picked & which are available in our apple barn. We will announce this information on our IG/FB stories & update our website, also.
Can I still visit Beak & Skiff the day of a ticketed event, like the Halloween Bash?
We will typically close campus early 60-90 minutes prior to any ticketed event or private party being hosting on campus. For example, if our Halloween Bash starts at 6pm, we will close campus around 4:30/5pm. CONCERT DAYS are different, however. On concert days, campus is closed to the general public, open to concert-goers only.
*Note: Apple Hill Campus will be CLOSED to the general public on concert days. For concerts that fall on a Thursday through Sunday, campus will open between 3pm-3:30pm for concert ticket-holders only. Find our Summer Concert Series FAQ page HERE
