Grammy-winning musician Bruce Hornsby is coming to Central New York for a socially-distanced concert.
Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers will perform at Beak & Skiff Apple Orchards in Lafayette on June 16. The all-ages, outdoor show will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. through dspshows.com; presale tickets will be available Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with code THEWAYITIS. Tickets are sold in two- and four-person PODS (Personal Outdoor Dance Space) starting at $130.
Hornsby performs in a wide variety of genres, including rock, jazz, bluegrass, folk, and blues. He won a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1987 with The Range, plus Grammys for Best Bluegrass Album in 1990 and Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1994. He’s collaborated with artists like The Grateful Dead and Ricky Skaggs, and had a No. 1 solo hit in 1986 with “The Way It Is” (famously sampled by 2Pac for the rap hit “Changes”).
Hornsby most recently released his 21st album, “Absolute Zero,” in 2019.
All Beak & Skiff shows will have Covid-19 restrictions including a health and temperature check before entering; masks are mandatory when entering, exiting or traveling throughout venue; all guests sharing a Pod must enter venue at same time; and no eating or drinking outside your designated Grid. Guests will be allowed one verbal warning for violations before being asked to leave.
